hey all.
what's the cheapest/best airlines to get to turkey from the us?
can you recommend any good websites for getting cheap tickets? what's a good price? most of the flights i'm seeing now are about a 1000 bucks and take me through new york. is this necessary?

Re: cheap flights to turkey
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 4:03 AMwhen are you planning on coming to turkey? flying here from the US
during the summer is very expensive.... right now though, you can find
tickets from san francisco to istanbul (roundtrip) for about 600 USD.
i've flown combinations of lufthansa (through frankfurt), delta (through
new york), and most recently on american/turkish airlines through
chicago.
check orbitz. i have found good deals through them. good luck! -

Re: cheap flights to turkey
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 8:01 AMTurkish Air and Delta both have direct flights out of NY. That's what I'd do... the layovers on KLM through Amsterdam, or the flights through Munich and Francfort can be looooooong. But maybe you'd like to get off someplace in Europe and walk around for a few hours.... My brother got an 8 hour layover in Amsterdam, and was thrilled.
It's probably the return that's driving the price up... usually flights in March should be less.
